PREPARING FOR DIZZINESS TESTS:

Some of the tests involve placing electrodes on the skin and at times wearing goggles to monitor your eye movements. Therefore, please do not use any makeup or moisturisers on the day of the test. In order for efficiency and reliable test results, it is important that NO makeup is worn including any eye liner, mascara, powder and foundation on your face and neck.

The ENG/VNG test sometimes may lead to nausea/vomiting (1 in 1000 people), so it is important not to eat anything at least 3 hours before the test. If necessary, as for diabetics, you may have a light snack.

Loose clothing/top around your neck is recommended as some tests procedure requires placing electrodes at the top of your sternum.

Do not take any sedatives or anti-vertigo medication at least 48 hours before test.

Do not drink alcohol at least 48 hours before the test.

If you are taking medication which you have been taking for a long time (like antidepressants), you can continue as recommended by your doctor but let your audiologist know at the appointment.
