Current Position: On staff at Toronto East General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital.
Previous Position: Chief of Department of Otolaryngology at Toronto East General Hospital.
Nasser is an experienced audiologist in the field of audiology. He has worked in a diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology setting and as a university instructor and research audiologist with the Cochlear Implant team for more than 16 years. He has dispensed and verified hearing aids, performed aural rehabilitation and provided counselling.
His expertise in electrophysiological tests such as ECochG, ABR, ASSR, OAE, ENG/VNG, VAT, and VEMP have made him a valuable member of our team. His areas of interest are auditory processing, speech perception and hearing aids. He has worked at the Scarborough General Hospital Clinic since 2011 and now is a full time audiology service provider at Thornhill Hearing and Balance Centre.
Dr. Sharon Morong, an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon (ENT), is a valuable member of the team at Thornhill Hearing and Balance Centre.
Qualifications: Dr. Morong received her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degrees, and completed her residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto. She also has international expertise in sinus and sleep disorders, and is fellowship trained in Rhinology, Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery, with research publications and book chapters in these fields.
In 2011, Dr. Alexander completed training in Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) at the University of Toronto. During residency, he was fortunate to receive numerous awards for academic excellence and dedication to patient care, achieved national recognition for his research pursuits, published in international journals, and was elected Chief Resident. After completing residency, Dr. Alexander was selected for the prestigious fellowship program in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at New York University (Manhattan). He subsequently pursued a second fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology at the Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute (Australia). Now back at home, Dr. Alexander is excited to serve the patients of the GTA. Along with treating all aspects of Otolaryngology—HNS, he has a particular interest in the full gamut of facial cosmetic surgery.
Since 2011 Maggie has been attentively caring for individuals troubled by hearing loss. She earned her advance diploma with honours’ from George Brown College in Toronto. Maggie is registered with the Ontario chapter of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners (AHIP). She is also registered as a Hearing Aid Authorizer and Dispenser with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Assistive Devices Program.
Maggie recognizes the seriousness of a hearing impairment and understands how it can, if not treated, negatively impact the lifestyle of the individual affected as well as lives of the ones they love. She is a specialist in the detection of an individual’s hearing loss and carefully determines the most suitable solution to effectively correct the problem. Maggie does her utmost to educate and counsel individuals on a one-to-one basis in order to improve hearing and communication abilities for each and every one of her clients.
